Psycho-pathological factors to consider regarding mental illnesses:
Influence of Noxious trio (Psychological approach)
Influence of Four Elements (Physiological approach)
Influence of Previous kamma (Ethical approach)
Influence of ghosts, gods and planetary objects (cultural and Parapsychological approach)
Luminosity of mind tainted by fetters/defilements, prevent ultimate wisdom.

Goal of nibbana to clean mind, restore luminosity.
From Buddhist perspective, all beings are mentally "ill" - only beings who have obtained enlightenment are well.
Suggest three kinds of major strategies in order to control them. They are as the following:
1. Tadanga – pahāna :- temporarily treatment
2. Vikkhambhana –Pahāna :- periodical treatment
3. Samuccheda – Pahāna :- everlasting treatment
Along with the Noble Eightfold Path, Sīla is advocated here as a strategy in order to change problematic behaviors into acceptable verbal and Physical functions in the society. Under this sīla (morality), behavioral modification is aimed.
